Kalyana Laxmi Scheme :In most communities, it's a habit that the parents of these daughters will need to bear the expenses of the girl's wedding. Mostly poverty-ridden households can also be trapped in this practice. The Government of Telangana has introduced a welfare system which operates under the titles'Kalyana Laxmi' for the minorities of below poverty line and'Shaadi Mubarak' for its Muslim community brides to stop child marriages that results form poverty. Except for the names, the functions under the scheme for those beneficiaries are same. The strategy aims to uplift the parents that aren't in a position to receive their daughters married by rendering one-time financial help.

Characteristics of Kalyana Laxmi Scheme

The Government of Telangana established the scheme on October 2, 2014 for its SC/St, minorities (BC-A, BC-B, BC-c), and the Economically Backward Class of this state. Originally, the Government launched the strategy giving a financial aid of Rs.51,000. Later the assistance was increased to Rs.75,116 in 2017. Qualification Criteria for Kalyana Laxmi / Shaadi Mubarak Scheme

The applying woman should belong to some of those mentioned minority communities or should fall beneath the under poverty line.

• The applicant must be a resident of Telangana State.
• The unmarried woman should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage.
• The chemical income of the woman's parents shouldn't cross Rs.2,00,000 per annum.
