Plus points

Since this movie has landed Pradeep as a full-fledged hero, let’s talk about him first. The actor who turned anchor was very impressed with his debut film. He dances well, has a good screen presence and emits nicely. Pradeep is good as a village man and the youth who go to college also do well.

The heroine Amrita Iyer is very good and very talented. In the emotional scenes she shows a glimpse of her brilliance and if she manages her career well, she can go a long way. For a change, Hema gets a better character and is nice as a hero mother.

Viva Harsha and Bhadram are good with their comedy. Some of the college teasing scenes starring the comedians and the lead couple work well in the first part. Posani performed well in his role and some visuals were good in the first ten minutes.

Minus points

One of the biggest flaws was the major turnaround revealed during the break. It’s weird and silly. But at least the twist that is displayed is good to move forward. After the first half things become very nasty, the story, narrative and logic go for the toss.

The super hit song, Blue Blue Sky comes within the first five minutes but does not give the love story time to blossom. The director has to explain the love story in detail to give the desired effect. But he misses the golden opportunity and wastes time with silly comedy and film misleading scenes in the current time zone.

There are plenty of family emotions in this film but they don’t click a single bit. The whole song is dedicated to the hero and his mother, but it doesn’t gel well and looks very compelling. The film fails big time in the emotional section because the main family emotions do not click. Things in depth should be better in writing but things get worse in the second part.

Technical aspects

The production values of the film are very good and especially the camera work is very good. The lyrics are good and the music is excellent. Anup Reuben did an excellent job with his score and it was a major attraction. Editing is awful, because the image has to be cut for 15 minutes. The dances are impressive and there is also architectural design.

Coming to the director Munna was disappointing. His story idea is good but the main twist he chooses seems awkward. But at the very least, he must choose the right logic, emotion and pain in the love story to maximize that turn. He should devote at least some time in Period Love Story to make things better for what will be presented in the second half. But that doesn’t happen at all.

Judgment

All in all, Preminchadam in 30 Days is a film that fails to live up to its hype. It starts well, but the non-execution scenes, narrative pulling and compelling emotions hurt the viewer. Pradeep passed with full colors as a solo hero and reached the expectations. But the film does not catch your eye and ends this weekend as a bottom-par watch.
